Old fashioned oats are flat flakes. They keep a little bite when you cook them. The canister is a big size for homes that eat oatmeal often or use oats in other recipes, such as overnight oats.
How to use: For one serving on the stovetop, boil 1 cup of water or milk with an optional dash of salt. Stir in 1/2 cup of oats and cook about 5 minutes on medium heat, stirring now and then. For the microwave, mix 1/2 cup of oats with 1 cup of water or milk in a microwave-safe bowl. Cook on high for 2 1/2 to 3 minutes and stir. Read the canister for ingredients and allergens.
